Mati grew up in Poland watching dubbed movies and always wondered why AI couldn't do better. He co-founded ElevenLabs in 2022 with Piotr Dabkowski with a simple thesis: voice AI should sound like a real person, not a robot. Within two years they were powering voice for publishers, podcasters, game studios, and developers across 70 languages — and their voice cloning tech had gotten so good it made people uncomfortable in the best possible way.
